Parasyte is the Maxim. They are an alien race who travel to earth in order to make "the perfect Earth" with the human beings. One day, they made their move. The people on Earth all took refuge in big cities or underground shelters, but what was awaiting them were huge capsules that had been created by the Maxim for their invasion of Earth. People living outside of these capsules were captured and absorbed into them, turning them into either mindless Hammers or brutal Worms that follow orders without question that are all part of a plan to assimilate humanity into one collective consciousness. The only person who can understand the motives of the Maxim and fight back is an average high school student named Shinichi Izumi, who unwillingly becomes a participant in the war for Earth's survival. Shinichi fell into a capsule after a scuffle with a Hammer that had broken into his house. When he woke up, the first thing he saw was a talking hand. After becoming acquainted with Migi, Shinichi learned from him that he is currently in the body of an unknown creature from outer space called a "Migi", but Migi had no memory on how or when he was placed inside Shinichi's body. Migi wanted to leave the capsule as soon as possible because the other "Maximians" will keep looking for a new host if he remained too long in his current body. Migi then asked Shinichi to find a way out of the capsule. Shinichi then made way out of the capsule with Migi in it. While they were on their way to escape, they were attacked by Hammers which Shinichi defeats without knowing that one is still lurking behind him. However, just when he was about to hit that Hammer with his bat, Migi tackled it before Shinichi took any action and grabbed its arm, causing it to explode. Seeing that, Shinichi was surprised to see that Migi can fight. After the Hammer was defeated, they continued to escape from the capsule. They then came upon a group of Worms and Hammers who were attacking humans. Shinichi and Migi then fought with them to defend themselves and the humans. On their way out, they met with Hiromi (Shinichi's crush) who is hurt after being attacked by a Hammer and brought her home despite Shinichi's father's disapproval and his brother YÅ«suke's dismay. Having nowhere to bring her, they brought her to a hospital after she gave him a pair of scissors that she was holding on the way. In the hospital, Shinichi and Migi were forced out from the emergency room after being mistaken as being an enemy by arriving officers as only the upper-class Maxians could fit in those capsules as all of them were equipped with weapons and high-tech gadgets. When they went outside of the hospital, they saw how bad it is when Hammers and Worms attack humans. After some searching around outside of the city, Shinichi and Migi decided to look for a safe place near a lake where no one will attack them. cfa1e77820
